IIE 101: Displacement in Higher Education

In this segment of IIE 101 – a series of videos in which IIE’s experts share information on the field of international education and IIE’s work – IIE-SRF Director James Robin King discusses the displacement crisis in higher education. “Many of the largest sites of displacement have sizable education systems,” says King. “So among the refugees and displaced populations are literally tens of thousands of university professionals, not to mention scholars who are threatened inside those and other countries. And this reality is reflected in the applications received by SRF – we received more requests for assistance in [every year since 2017].”
